This cable will allow you to:

• Use a personal computer to directly control a Meade AutoStar telescope through the use of an astronomical software program with telescope control capabilities, such as Winstars, Meade Epoch 2000sk Sky or Starry Night Pro. • Download a new version of the AutoStar software or updated object information from the Meade web site to your AutoStar with Meade's easy-to-use AutoStar Update (ASU) program.

Note:

• NexStar 60/80/114 telescopes with the new handset introduced in December 2001 use a command set identical to that used by the NexStar GPS telescopes. If your software has a setting for the GPS telescopes but not for the GT telescopes, use the GPS setting & it will work. Older 60/80/114 telescopes are less widely-supported by commercial software packages; check with your software provider.
• This cable cannot be used to update the firmware in the NexStar 8/11 GPS telescopes.
